Apps from the App Store and Mac App Store
Apps distributed through the App Store and Mac App Store (Education Compass, Story Circle, Pocket DM, Mixtape Rosetta, The Daily Margin, Front Porch, Fair Entry, Studio Index and the Mac App Store edition of Frame and Forge) are licensed to you under Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement. The sections below on your data, professional judgment and third-party services also apply. If these terms conflict with Apple’s agreement for an App Store app, Apple’s agreement controls.
Mixtape Rosetta in Chrome
The Chrome extension is provided free for personal use under these terms and the Chrome Web Store terms. Use it only with music information you are entitled to use.
Frame and Forge direct download: evaluation license
- License. We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Frame and Forge on Macs you control, to evaluate it for your business, during the evaluation period we agree with you in writing, or until a commercial license replaces this one.
- Restrictions. You may not sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the software, or remove its notices. You may not reverse engineer it except where the law allows that despite this restriction.
- Commercial use. Ongoing business use after the evaluation needs a written license from us. Ask about licensing.
- Updates. We may provide updates. Install them from the download page after making a backup.
- Ending the license. This license ends if you break these terms, or when the evaluation ends without a commercial license. Your workspace data remains yours.
Your data
Your documents, plans, stories, adventures, playlists, letters, recordings and business records belong to you. Our apps keep them on your devices, as each app’s privacy policy explains. You are responsible for keeping backups.
Use your own judgment
Education Compass does not provide official degree evaluations or institutional decisions. Frame and Forge records do not replace legal signatures, permits, inspections, or professional, legal or tax advice. Pocket DM and Story Circle are for entertainment and creative practice. The Daily Margin and Front Porch present news, public records and advocacy material from the sources they cite; check the source before acting, and treat rights information as general information, not legal advice. Fair Entry does not buy tickets and does not guarantee a purchase or price.
Third-party services
Optional connections, such as Apple Music, Canvas, writing tools, mail, maps, accounting services, public data services, are provided by others under their own terms. We are not responsible for those services.
No warranty
The software is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or business. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the software in the twelve months before the claim, or US $50 if you paid nothing.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Stanislaus County, California, unless the law where you live requires otherwise.
Changes
We may update these terms. We will change the date above and, for material changes, note them in the app’s release notes.
