Front Porch support

Help with finding your officials, following meetings, the Surveillance section, letters and recording.

We aim to reply within three business days.

What to include

  • Your device model and system version.
  • The Front Porch version and your iOS version.
  • What you were trying to do, what you expected, and what happened.

Please leave out passwords, access keys, and private records about other people. If we need a file, we’ll suggest a safe way to share it.

Not legal advice

Rights cards are general information with sources. For advice about your situation, contact a lawyer or a legal aid organization. If you are in danger, call 911.

Common questions

Do I need an account?

No. Front Porch has no sign-in and no server.

Why don’t I see my state legislators?

State legislators need your own free OpenStates key. Add it in Settings; it is kept in your iPhone’s Keychain and sent only to OpenStates.

My city’s meetings don’t appear.

Front Porch reads public meetings from Legistar, the system many cities and counties use. Not every place uses it, and some don’t answer its public service. Choose your city from the list, or enter its Legistar name if you know it.

Does Front Porch send letters or texts for me?

No. Letters open in Mail or the share sheet, and texts open in Messages, for you to review and send.

Is the map showing people or police in real time?

No. It shows fixed public infrastructure from OpenStreetMap and the U.S. Census Bureau, such as license plate readers, data centers and detention facilities, with sources. It does not track anyone.

Where does the boycott information come from?

From the BDS movement’s published list, shown with its source and the date it was checked. These are the movement’s positions, and companies often dispute them. Check the source before acting.

Where are my recordings?

In the app, under Record, until you choose Save Video or share one. Deleting a recording in the app removes it.

I don’t see writing help.

Writing help needs iOS 26 on a supported iPhone, and it must be turned on in Settings.

How do I erase everything?

Settings › Erase all Front Porch data.
